This is simply a link to the Clutch hits from last week, and I've queued the thread to my comments.

Greg Maddux's BABIP(.278) is lower than all but 2 of his teammates yet he is having one of his worst seasons in recent memory. Seems like his so called "ability" to prevent hits on balls on play really doesn't mean much. IOW, even if he does has this ability that Tippett says he has, it can be ignored and we can still see his true ability coming through. Maddux is getting old and it is showing. He just gave up his career high 20th homerun and its only August!. What do you guys think about this?

I also pointed it out in the Clutch thread, but since the "hot topics" frame in clutch hits doesn't seem to work properly (victim of its success, too many posts or threads?) whereas the Primate Studies one seems to work better:
Tom Tippett provided an answer to remarks made in the original clutch hits thread on his diamond mind weblog (link in homepage address).
